Aloha,

I realize this is a real estate blog, but sometimes, there is a story so great it must be told…

I imagine there are very few, if any, folks who have not seen or heard of Susan Boyle. If you have somehow missed the video or just have disregarded every email, radio show, and telecast recommending you view it, don’t delay any longer! click here.

Susan Boyle has surprised the world, inspired all who watch her, and reminded us that preconceived notions are just that, preconceived… She reminded me that we should all keep ourselves in check for you never know where talent exists or who someone really is until you give him or her a chance to show you.

Steve Rosenbaum of The Huffington Post said it best when he said “…some how Susan Boyle connected with a wide variety of people in a deep and powerful way.” Read the article by clicking here.

Want to keep up-to-date on Susan and her story… see her on Oprah soon or visit her fan site, already receiving almost a million hits per day http://susan-boyle.com/

Susan’s story is inspiring and a reminder to get out there, live your dream, or as my friend’s like to say “Go big or go home”.

I hope that you are as inspired and amazed as I am.

Princeville, on the North Shore of Kauai, is still a PREMIER DESTINATION for tourists and those who would like to relocate from the mainland and embrace the life style that only Kauai has to offer.

To expound even further on this is the renovations at the Princeville Resort in which it is being transformed into the St. Regis, and will be ONE of only a few resorts to fly this flag of excellence! In addition the Makai golf course is also getting some major attention and together the two projects will push the $100,000,000 mark in cost to complete.

What impact will this have on Kauai’s North Shore? I expect HUGE but only time will tell. The NEW St. Regis is scheduled to open late spring of 2009 (as with most construction, project is likely to be moderately delayed).

It’s a great time to buy on Kauai as the Sellers tend to be very motivated! Please contact me for more detailed information on Princeville or any other part of Kauai.

  Kilauea Lighthouse   KILAUEA LIGHTHOUSE

A vision not to be missed on your trip to Kauai! Just one moment at the edge of the lighthouse and you can only begin to marvel at the expanse of the ocean and the views, both North and South, of this magnificent Garden Isle of Kauai.

The Kilauea Lighthouse, the Northernmost tip of Kauai, is a sight to behold! Dedicated in 1913, the lighthouse at that time had the largest revolving lens of its kind. In 1985 the land surrounding the lighthouse became the 425th refuge in the National Wildlife Refuge System.

You have the option to spend hours or minutes on a self guided tour, enjoying the site and the expansive island views. In addition, thousands of migratory seabirds like laysan albatross, red-footed boobies, brown boobies, red-tailed tropicbirds, white-tailed tropicbirds, and more use Kilauea Point as their resting and nesting grounds.

For the ambitious, there is also the Crater Hill Hike to what is left of an extinct volcano crater ~ the perfect location for watching spinner dolphins and spotting sea turtles. The hike is about 2 miles long, but reservations are required, so call ahead! Of course, you can always wing it and hope there is a cancellation or a no show, just be sure to check in by 10:15 am.

Directions: From Kapaa, travel Kuhio Highway North until you reach the Kilauea town, signs will indicate how to get to the lighthouse, but for those who want to know in advance, turn right onto Kolo Road at the gas station then make your first left onto Kilauea Road (aka Lighthouse Road), and continue traveling down the road approximately 2 miles until you reach Kilauea Point.

The Lighthouse and Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge hours of operation are 10 am to 4 pm daily.

Admission is currently $3.00. To check for updated hours & holiday schedules, you may call (808) 828-0168.
